One-Day-Visit
Go for a nature walk.

Start at the opposite end of the village of Parada. Park your car on the National Road N 203 and follow the upward path going south to the village of Parada.

Find your way to "Penedo do Encanto" that is marked by a small wooden plaque.

Follow the path southwards.
When you find the sign indicating "Penedo do Encanto", you will see a fallow field. Here you may enjoy some examples of cave art, namely engravings dating from the mid 3000-2000 BC.
Keep walking until the small bridge over the creek. From this point on the winding path will climb steeply. When you reach the top keep following the stone wall which will take you to another path, leading you back to the village.
The way down reveals the breath-taking scenery of the National Park and its variety of flora.
As you approach the end of your walk, you can enjoy a swim in the "Poço da Gola", a natural pool, or a picnic. After a comforting break, have a look at the medieval bridge, once the passage chosen by San-tiago pilgrims, and now "trapped" between concrete pillars of the National Road. You access it through a trail next to a café, that will lead you along the river-side where a couple of abandoned watermills still stand.
